How to develop a Team Bonding while WFH

Work culture and working styles have been evolving over time. However, the global pandemic has brought a shift in the way work happens, almost overnight. Adapting to change in the way we work can be difficult, especially if you have never worked remotely and if you thrive on the human connection while working. Making a great team bonding and a collaborative team can help in sustaining team members at work with changing work environments. When the team can communicate with each other without any inhibitions and when work gets done like clockwork, a leader has nothing left to worry about.

Here are a few important points to remember while building a strong team bonding,

Communication

Effective communication is a key element while collaborating with others. Since, there is no face-to-face interaction, one of the challenges while working from home can be communicating with others in the team seamlessly. Make sure that there is an open path to communicate within the team as work happens, with help of tools like Slack, Microsoft teams, etc. Keep instructions simple and clear and encourage your team members to ask questions if they are unclear.

Goals and responsibility

Explain your expectations from your team members and set individual and team goals right at the beginning. If the team is not sure about what is expected from them, there is no use in all the collaborative tools that you may offer.

Show empathy

Lead your team by example and show them what difference being empathetic can make. It can get challenging while working in isolation. Working remotely doesn’t come easily to everyone and especially not when you are pushed to this circumstance involuntarily. Showing your team members that your listen and care will help boost their morale.

Get the team together

At Action Teams, we try to give ourselves and your team a break every once in a while. Getting the team together and doing something fun can help with team bonding. Earlier, there were so many options to break the ice and conduct team bonding activities. Thanks to technology, we can now do that virtually. Team bonding activities have been on the rise since the global pandemic. From performing activities together and working out with your team, there are many ways in which your team can unwind together.
