A potluck or a picnic once in a
while is a great way to reenergize people in workplaces, but such opportunities
are few and far between busy weeks and short deadlines. Luckily, there are some
other ways in which the repetitive corporative life of employees can be
interesting and fun. They are called team bonding activities. They are exactly
what the name suggests. Through little games and exercises, these programs
promote cohesiveness and clarity among members of a team. The right kind of corporate team bonding activities bring
together learning and fun in a balanced keel.
Here are 5 such games that meet
both the ends.
The Egg Drop Competition
It hardly as messy as it sounds,
and sadly for no soup lovers, it has nothing to do with soup making. An egg
drop is a game where employees form teams and collaborate to design a packaging
for a single, whole, uncooked egg. The challenge is that this package with the
egg inside has to pass the drop test. Normally a height of 2 to 4 story is
chosen for the test. The higher the fall is, the more challenging it becomes.
The egg drop is a creative problem-solving challenge that requires minds to
come together and share ideas and solve problems jointly.
Truths and Lies
The truths and lies is one of the
top corporate team bonding activities
of all time. Needing absolutely no tool and very little time, this one is a
team building game. You can play it anywhere and without any hassles. Split
your teams up into threes and make each group sit in a circle. In these groups,
the members will share four facts of themselves, three of which will be true
and one a lie. The participant telling the lie need to frame it so that it
sounds completely believable. Now, the other team has to detect the lie and
identify the truth. This game works wonders for team that work from remote
locations and hardly have chance to interact freely with one another.
The Birthday Lineup
The Birthday Lineup
Some corporate team bonding
activities are great icebreakers. This is one of them. Quick and easy, this is
a simple game that focuses on cooperation, communication and problem solving.
Stand the participants side by side in no particular order and ask them to
rearrange themselves in the row in order of their birthdays. Now that hardly
sounds like a challenge, nor much fun until you hear the catch. The only one
rule of this game is you are not allowed to talk. You can still communicate
though, through signs and nudges alone.
